30/10 @16.00 - 17.00: CET: Blockchain as a medium
FLUX Workshop schedule October 29th-30th
  • Tuesday 29/10 @16.00-17.00 CET: NFTs and art institutions, NFT collections in museums, and how platforms become galleries
After the boom of NFTs, the art world takes a step back, but then it comes back creating permanent collections in big museums. The world of NFTs also takes a step back, and the platforms have started acting more like galleries. We examine this wave of love and hate, as well as the acceptance and refusal of one of the most exciting phenomena of the art world in the last decade.
  • Wednesday 30/10 @16.00 – 17.00: CET: Blockchain as a medium
Too many are concentrated on NFTs, forgetting that what they really are is just a certificate. What is valuable and exciting at the core of these works of digital art is blockchain technology. In this last session, we won’t analyze the artworks that use the blockchain to be authenticated and commercialized, but the artists who have been using this technology as a tool to create some of the most innovative and contemporary artworks of today, like Primavera De Filippi, Rhea Meyers, Sarah Friend, Operator etc.

All times are CET.

If you miss these sessions you can still join the course, see our Open Call page for details.
